This article was previously published under Q186249

SYMPTOMS

When you press RETURN on your keyboard, the Office Assistant may not perform a search.

CAUSE

The Office Assistant may not perform a search if a Movie object in your document is running when you press RETURN. The Office Assistant does not have focus in this scenario; therefore, the RETURN key is being trapped by the Movie object.

NOTE: When you press RETURN, the Movie object either stops playing or cycles through the next set of movie frames.

RESOLUTION

To perform an Office Assistant search while a Movie object is playing, click Search in the Office Assistant balloon.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
