SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to post Web content to a Web server using Web Publishing Wizard, you may receive one of the following error messages:
Web Publishing was unable to post your file(s) to your web site.
-or-
The Web Publishing Wizard was unable to publish your file(s) to the Web server for the following reasons:

The file upload has been cancelled.

Click on OK to exit.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Web server is not running on port 80.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, configure the Web server to run on port 80. For information about how to do this, please consult the documentation included with your Web server.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
