Application Error Using ShareUI Tool (185011)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the ShareUI tool included with the Microsoft Windows NT Resource Kit, you may receive the following Dr. Watson error message:
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.

Explorer.exe
Exception: access violation(0xC0000005), Address: <address>

CAUSE

This error message can occur if the Windows Desktop Update component is installed.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this behavior from occurring, do not use the ShareUI tool.

To work around this behavior, remove the Windows Desktop Update component. For information about how to do so, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
