OFF98: Thick Line Styles May Appear Differently in MS Office 98 (184648)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a file that contains a line drawing object in a Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition program, the line style may appear to be different from the style you expect.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • You create a file that contains a line drawing object that is formatted as a thick, dashed line in a Microsoft Office 4.2.x program. -and-

  • You open the file in a Microsoft Office 98 program.
This behavior is caused by changes in the Microsoft Office 98 file formats.

STATUS

This behavior is by design in the Microsoft Office 98 programs listed at the beginning of this article.
