OFF98: Bookshelf May Not Appear on the MOM Menu (184577)

When you click the Microsoft Office Manager (MOM), an item for Microsoft
Bookshelf 1996-97 for Macintosh may not appear on the Microsoft Office
Manager menu.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if both of the following conditions are true:
- You have installed Microsoft Bookshelf 1996-97 from a network share.
-and-
- You have never started Bookshelf.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, start the Bookshelf program from your hard
disk. After you do this, Microsoft Bookshelf is listed on the Microsoft
Office Manager menu.
However, if Microsoft Bookshelf remains unlisted on the Microsoft Office
Manager menu after you start the program, follow these steps:
- On the Microsoft Office Manager menu, click Customize.
- Click New.
- Locate the Bookshelf 1996-97 folder on your hard disk. Open this
folder.
- Click Microsoft Bookshelf and click Add.
- Close the Microsoft Office Manager dialog box.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition Gold includes Microsoft Bookshelf 98;
this problem does not occur with Microsoft Bookshelf 98. The problem also
does not occur if you are installing the Microsoft Bookshelf 1996-97
program directly from compact disc.
