OFF98: Microsoft Office Manager Is Installed with No Icons (184362)

After you successfully install Microsoft Office 98, the Microsoft Office
Manager appears, but no programs are listed on the menu.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
- You have previously installed the Microsoft Office Manager for Microsoft
Office 4.2.x.
-and-
- You remove Microsoft Office 4.2.x before you install Office 98.
-and-
- You perform a run from network installation of Microsoft Office 98.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, manually place the menu items on the Microsoft
Office Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Microsoft Office Manager menu, click Customize.
- Click to select the check box for the program you want to add to the
Microsoft Office Manager menu.
- Click the Close box on the Microsoft Office Manager dialog box.
The programs you have selected in step 2 appear on the Microsoft Office
Manager menu.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
