WD98: Addresses Print Too Low on LaserWriter Pro 630 Printing to Feeder (183894)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition

This article was previously published under Q183894

SYMPTOMS

When you print to an envelope feeder attached to a LaserWriter Pro 630 from Word 98 Macintosh Edition, the addresses are in incorrect positions. The destination address prints too far to the right and the return address prints too high.

CAUSE

When the default "auto" settings are used, Word 98 picks measurements which are not comparable to the LaserWriter Pro 630 printer driver.

WORKAROUND

The envelope must be manually configured for the envelope to print to the LaserWriter 360 printer feeder correctly. In order to do this, you must make changes in the envelope settings and add the envelope to the document. To configure the envelope settings and to add an envelope to the document from the Envelopes And Labels feature, follow these steps:
  1. In Microsoft Word, place the insertion point at the beginning of the file that you want to print an envelope for.
  2. Click Envelopes And Labels on the Tools menu, and then click the Envelopes tab.
  3. In either the Delivery Address or Return Address box, type the address.
  4. Click Options. You do not need to select the address you typed in step 2.
  5. On the Envelope Options tab under Delivery address, type the distance you want (for example, 2") in the From Top box.
  6. Under Return address, type the distance you want (for example, 1") in the From top box, and then click OK.
  7. Click the Add To Document button.
  8. On the File menu, click Print.
  9. Under Paper Source in the All pages from box, select Envelope Feeder and then click Print.

NOTE: Changes you make in the From Left and From Top boxes for both the Delivery Address and Return Address are not permanent changes and will only be applied to the current envelope.

STATUS
