OL98: Animated Signatures Are Not Visible (183224)

SYMPTOMS

After creating a signature that includes certain forms of animation such as Fly From Bottom, or Drop In By Word, the signature does not show up in e-mail messages you send.

To include an animated signature add it to your stationery modifying the stationery with an appropriate HTML editor. Type your signature, and then apply the animation. The default location of stationery files is:

\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery

Your signature may not be visible when you compose new e-mail but will appear when the e-mail is opened with an HTML aware e-mail reader.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format Tab.
  2. Click Signature Picker and then click New.
  3. Type a name for your new signature, and then either start a new signature or use an existing signature as a template and click Next.
  4. Type your signature and then click Advanced Edit. Click OK to the warning message.
  5. Select your signature and apply some form of animation such as Fly From Bottom. The steps to do this will vary with different editors.
  6. Save your signature and exit the Advanced Editor. Click OK, Apply, and OK.
  7. Open a new mail message.
Any part of the signature that animation was applied to will not be Visible.
