XL98: Movie Is Converted to a Picture If Saved in an Earlier Version Format (183185)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a file that contains an embedded movie, the movie is converted to a picture.

CAUSE

When you save a file that contains a movie in an earlier version file format, the movie is converted to a picture without warning. For example, if you save a file that contains a movie in the Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook file format, the movie is converted to a picture.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
