The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q183119 SYMPTOMS
When you print an envelope, Microsoft Word may print the return address too
far from the left edge of the envelope.
NOTE: This problem may also occur when you add the envelope to your Word
document, and in print preview.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, change the From Left setting (under Return
Address) from Auto to a specific value for your printer. To do this, follow
these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Envelopes And labels.
- On the Envelopes tab, click Options.
- Under Return Address, change the From Left setting to the value for your
printer in the following table:
If your installed printer is Change the From Left setting to
---------------------------- -------------------------------
HP DeskJet 800 Series 0.74 inch
HP DeskWriter 600 Series 0.54 inch
HP DeskWriter 560 Series 0.62 inch
HP DeskWriter 540 Series 0.74 inch
NOTE: The values listed are minimum settings. If you specify a smaller
value for the From Left setting, your return address may be forced into
the unprintable region of your printer and your return address may be
cut off.
If your printer is not listed, then try different values in the From
Left box until your return address is positioned correctly.
- Click OK.
