WD98: Not Enough Memory to Print with Fax Wizard Document (183003)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a document using the Fax Wizard in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition, you may receive one of the following errors when you attempt to fax or print:
Not enough memory to print.

-or-

Out of memory.

CAUSE

Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications does not return the system resources that the Fax Wizard uses.

RESOLUTION

You must quit and restart Word to free the system resources that Visual Basic is using, and then print the document created with the Fax Wizard.

Additionally, we suggest that you turn on Virtual Memory to reduce the risk of these errors. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Close all programs.
  2. On the Apple menu, point to Control Panels, and then click Memory.
  3. In the Virtual Memory section, make sure On is selected. If it is not, click On and then close the Memory Control Panel.
  4. On the Special menu, click Restart.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word 98 for Macintosh Edition.
