SUMMARY

If you use Microsoft Publisher 98 to create a publication that is to be converted to a Web site (series of HTML documents), you can provide alternate text descriptions for your pictures. An alternate text description is a text- only description that appears in your Web browser if you choose to hide pictures or if your browser is text-based.

To specify alternate text for a picture, follow these steps:
  1. Select a picture or object frame.
  2. On the Format menu, click Picture Frame Properties or Object Frame Properties.
  3. In the Text To Display box, type the description you want to appear in place of a graphic.

    NOTE: The Text To Display box only appears in the Picture Frame Properties or the Object Frame Properties dialog box if you are working on a Web publication.
  4. Click OK.
