This article was previously published under Q182845 SYMPTOMS
The Macintosh Operating System Help window always appears in front of other open
windows. For example, if you are running a slide show in Microsoft PowerPoint 98
Macintosh Edition, the Macintosh Operating System Help window will cover a
portion of the show. On Macintosh computers running the Macintosh Operating
System software versions 7.x or earlier, a black region covers part of the slide
show window.
NOTE: Macintosh Operating System Help is sometimes referred to as Apple Guide.
CAUSE
The Macintosh Operating System Help window is designed to appear on top of other
windows.
RESOLUTION
Exit Macintosh Operating System Help before you run a slide show. PowerPoint
does not provide a way for you to turn off the Macintosh Operating System Help
prior to running or during a slide show.
