SUMMARY

When you start PowerPoint, two dialog boxes appear before you can open a blank presentation. These dialog boxes are called Startup and New Slide Dialog. If you always prefer to begin with the same basic layout and want to bypass these initial dialog boxes, you can force PowerPoint to load the default Blank Presentation automatically.

MORE INFORMATION

To force PowerPoint to open a blank presentation and bypass the first two dialog boxes, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Preferences.
  2. Click the View Tab.
  3. Under Show, click to clear the Startup Dialog and the New Slide Dialog check boxes. Click OK.
For more information about changing the default template in PowerPoint, click Contents And Index on the Help menu (or on the Balloon Help menu if you are using a version of the Macintosh operating system earlier than 8.0), click the Index button in PowerPoint Help, type the following text

blank presentation

and then click Show Topics. Select the "Change the default format of the blank presentation" topic, and click Go To. If you are unable to find the information you need, ask the Office Assistant.
