The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Direct Mail Manager for Windows
  • Microsoft Word 97 for Windows

This article was previously published under Q180695

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to import a second address list into Direct Mail Manager and you then click Cancel to cancel the action, the program is closed unexpectedly.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the appropriate method for your situation.

Method 1: If You Clicked Cancel and the Program Quit

The next time Direct Mail Manager is started, you will be prompted to resume the last Direct Mail Manager session. Clicking the Resume button starts the session over using the first chosen address list.

Method 2: If You Haven't Yet Selected a Second List to Import

If you clicked "Yes, import another list," but you haven't yet clicked Cancel, click Next instead of Cancel.

Method 3: If You Have Already Selected a Second List to Import

If you have selected the second list, but you haven't yet clicked Cancel, click the down-arrow next to the second list and click the first list. Then, click Next.
