OL98: Unable to Edit Some Contact Fields in Table View (180036)

SYMPTOMS

When viewing Microsoft Outlook 98 Contacts in a tabular type view, you are unable to edit certain fields.

RESOLUTION

Open the Contact item to edit the field.

MORE INFORMATION

To edit Contact fields in a tabular view you must have the "Allow in-cell editing" option selected. Even with this option selected, some fields cannot be edited in the cell. Examples are the File As and E-mail fields.

Selecting In-cell Editing

  1. On the View menu, point to Current View and click Customize Current View.
  2. On the View Summary dialog box, click Other Settings.
  3. In the Rows section, click to select or clear the "Allow in-cell editing" check box.
