  • Microsoft Windows 98

This article was previously published under Q180029

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to hide annotations on an image file using Kodak Imaging, the Show Annotations command on the Annotation menu may be unavailable.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are attempting to hide annotations on a Windows bitmap (BMP) or Microsoft Fax (AWD) image file. In Kodak Imaging, you can hide annotations only on a tagged image file format (TIFF) image file.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, save the BMP or AWD image file as a TIFF image file, and then hide the annotations. To do so, follow these steps in Kodak Imaging:
  1. If you have not already done so, open the BMP or AWD image file on which you want to hide annotations. To do so, click Open on the File menu, locate and click the BMP or AWD image file, and then click Open.
  2. On the File menu, click Save As.
  3. In the File Name box, type a new name for the image file.
  4. In the Save As Type box, click TIFF Document (*.tif), and then click Save.
  5. On the Annotation menu, click Show Annotations to clear the check mark.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
