SUMMARY

This article describes how to place shortcuts on the Office Shortcut Bar to access your Outlook folders, such as Calendar, Contacts, Inbox, Tasks, or any other messaging application programming interface (MAPI) folder.

MORE INFORMATION

You cannot place MAPI folders on the Office Shortcut Bar using the normal customization function or by using a drag-and-drop operation. You must first drag the MAPI folder from the Folder List to the desktop, and then drag it to the Office Shortcut Bar.

Follow these steps to place a MAPI folder shortcut on the Office Shortcut Bar:
  1. Size the Outlook window so the desktop is visible.
  2. Click the desired folder in the Folder List, and drag it to the desktop.
  3. Click the shortcut you created in step 2, and drag it to the Office Shortcut Bar.
  4. Right-click the shortcut on the desktop, and then click Delete on the shortcut menu.
