SUMMARY

Publisher cannot directly print a publication with left and right reversed (as a mirror image). However, if you are printing to a printer that uses the PostScript page description language, you can use a feature of the Windows PostScript printer driver to do this.

If you are creating a publication that you will use to create iron-on transfers, you may want to print your publication as a mirror image. To do this, your printer must support the PostScript printer driver.

NOTE: Various printers have built-in support for the Adobe PostScript language. Other printers may support this language if you install a PostScript option (an add-on card or cartridge). Make sure your printer supports PostScript before using this method!

You can use this feature of the Windows PostScript driver to print mirror images from many programs, not just from Publisher.

NOTE: The following steps are not specific to Publisher.
  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click the icon of the printer driver you want to use and click Properties on the menu that appears.
  3. Click the Graphics tab.
  4. Click to select the "Print As A Mirror Image" check box. Click OK.
NOTE: Rather than changing this setting through the Printers control panel, you may be able to change these settings from the Print Setup, Page Setup, or Print dialog boxes of your program.
