This article describes how to configure Visual InterDev to easily attach a Web file from your Visual InterDev project to a Microsoft Outlook e-mail message.

To easily send a Web file as a file attachment, you need add the Microsoft Office Outlook SendFile executable as a helper application to your "Open With" list.

Use the following steps to do this:
  1. Within Visual InterDev, right-click on any Web file and select Open With.
  2. Select Add.
  3. Insert the following in the Program Name field:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe

  4. Insert the following in the Friendly Name field: Outlook
  5. Click OK.
Now when you need to send an Active Server Pages (ASP) file as an Outlook File attachment complete the following steps:
  1. Right-click on the ASP file you wish to send.
  2. Click Open With.
  3. Select Outlook as the program to open.
  4. A new e-mail message will appear with the ASP file you have chosen as a file attachment.
