SUMMARY

There are two ways to use the Microsoft Publisher Setup program to uninstall Publisher. One method leaves the setup table file Setup.stf on your hard disk; the other does not.

To Uninstall Publisher and Leave Setup.stf on the Hard Disk

To uninstall Publisher 98 and leave setup.stf on the hard disk, follow these steps:
  1. Run Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
  3. Click Microsoft Publisher 98 in the list of installed programs. Click Add/Remove.
  4. Click Add/Remove. Clear the check boxes next to all the listed components and click Continue.

To Uninstall Publisher and Remove Setup.stf

To uninstall Publisher 98 and remove the setup.stf file, follow these steps:
  1. Run Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
  3. Click Microsoft Publisher 98 in the list of installed programs and click Add/Remove.
  4. Click Remove All.
The Setup.stf file keeps a record of all Publisher components that you have previously installed. If you keep this file, you can reinstall Publisher on the Add/Remove Programs control panel.

NOTE: If the Setup.stf is not removed by Setup, even when a Remove All is performed, the file may be corrupted or damaged. In this case you will have to remove this file manually.
