GW 2.0: "Computer Error, I'm Afraid" Error with Spelling Checker (177460)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to check the spelling of your Greetings Workshop project, you may receive the following error message:
Computer Error, I'm afraid.
Sorry I can't continue because something is missing.

CAUSE

The Regional Settings option on your computer may be set to English (Canadian).

RESOLUTION

Change the computer's Regional Setting option to either English (United States) or English (British).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Greetings Workshop version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

To change the Regional Settings option on your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click the Regional Settings icon.
  3. Change the Regional Settings option to English (United States).
  4. Click OK. When prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
