XL97: Errors Using Quit Method with Virus Search Add-in Loaded (174226)

If you use the Quit method in a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Sub
procedure, you may twice receive the following error message:
Application-defined or object-defined error.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if both of the following conditions are true:
- You are using the Quit method in a procedure.
-and-
- The Microsoft Excel Virus Search add-in is installed.

To work around this problem, use the SendKeys method. For example, the
following code does not generate the error when the Microsoft Excel Virus
Search add-in is installed:
Sub Quit_NoError()
Application.SendKeys "~~"
Application.Quit
End Sub
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
