WD97: Cannot Move to Previous or Next Linked Text Box (173490)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word 97, after you click the Change Text Direction button on the Text Box toolbar, you may not be able to move between linked text boxes using the Next Text Box or Previous Text Box toolbar buttons.

NOTE: This problem may also occur when you use Word as your e-mail editor.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.

Method 1: Change Text Direction

  1. Click the Change Text Direction button on the Text Box toolbar.
  2. Click the Previous Text Box or Next Text Box button to move between the text boxes.

Method 2: Click Outside the Text Boxes

  1. Click outside the text boxes, and then click to select one of the text boxes.
  2. Click the Previous Text Box or Next Text Box button to move between the text boxes.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word 97 for Windows.
