PRJ98: Delay Units Converted to Duration Units Opening 4.x File (173178)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q173178 SYMPTOMS
When you open a file created in an earlier version of Microsoft Project,
the units of measurement used for a task change to match the units of
measurement used for the duration of the task. For example, in Microsoft
Project 4.1, if you set the duration to 24 hours (24h) and the delay to 3
elapsed days (3ed), the leveling delay will change to 72 elapsed hours
(72eh) when you open the file in Microsoft Project 98.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
- After you open the file in Microsoft Project 98, change the delay
value to the value you want.
- In Microsoft Project 4.1, change the delay value to match the unit
of measurement used by the duration.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
