PRJ: Setting Task to 0% or 100% Complete Updates Resource Status (172893)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Project 2000
  • Microsoft Project 98 for Windows

This article was previously published under Q172893

SYMPTOMS

When you set a task to 0% or 100% complete, the actual work will be set to 0 hours (0h) or the total amount of work, even though you cleared the "Updating task status updates resource status" check box on the Calculation tab in the Options dialog box. (On the Tools menu, click Options.)

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Microsoft Project recalculates a task set to 0% or 100% complete and updates the status of the task. In contrast, Microsoft Project 95 only recalculates a task set to 100% complete.
