SBFM97: Error Message When Running Wizards Under MS Windows NT (172830)

SYMPTOMS

When you click one of the wizards on the Accounting menu, the following error message appears:
You installed the <<unknown country>> version of Microsoft Small Business Financial Manager, but you have not set up Windows NT with <<unknown country>> settings. Your dates and numbers will not be in <<unknown country>> format until you change your Windows NT settings to <<unknown country>>.
When you click OK, the following error appears:
The SBFM Application folder is not registered
When you click OK again, the following error appears:
Run-time error '48':
File not found: msaap.dll

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

  • You log on to a computer running Microsoft Windows NT without administrative permission. -and-

  • You install the Microsoft Small Business Financial Manager 97. -and-

  • You start the Microsoft Small Business Financial Manager and attempt to use a wizard.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
