To subscribe to Internet newsgroups in Outlook Express, follow these steps:
  1. In Microsoft Outlook, click News on the Go menu. If you have not already subscribed to any newsgroups, you are prompted to view a list of newsgroups.

    If News does not appear on the Go menu in Outlook, follow these steps:
    1. On the View menu, click Toolbar, and then click Customize.
    2. Click the Commands tab.
    3. In the Categories list, click Go.
    4. In the Commands list, click News, and then drag News to the Go menu.
    5. When the list of commands on the Go menu appears, drag News to where you want the command to appear.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Newsgroups.
  3. In the list of newsgroups, click a newsgroup, and then click Subscribe. To search for a specific newsgroup, type a word or part of a newsgroup name in the Display Newsgroups Which Contain box.
In Outlook Express 4, newsgroups to which you have already subscribed are denoted by a newspaper icon to the left of the newsgroup name.

In Outlook Express 5, newsgroups to which you have already subscribed are denoted by a file, paper, and pushpin icon to the left of the newsgroup name.

To unsubscribe from Internet newsgroups in Outlook Express, follow these steps:
  1. On the Subscribed tab, click the newsgroup you no longer want to subscribe to, and then click Unsubscribe.
  2. Click OK.
