The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Transaction Server 1.0
  • Microsoft Transaction Server 1.0 SP2 for Alpha

This article was previously published under Q170821

SYMPTOMS

If a Microsoft Transaction Server component uses the importlib statement in its type library, the installation as a remote component will fail. In particular, the installation of any Visual Basic component that uses the Implements keyword will fail. When a client tries to create an instance of the component, the client receives error 8002802b.

CAUSE

During remote installation, Microsoft Transaction Server inserts an incorrect value of the type library registry key for the object's main interface.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain and install Microsoft Transaction Server Service Pack 2.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Transaction Server version 1.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Transaction Server version 1.0. For more information, contact your primary support provider.
