PRJ98: Can't Save Changes to File Opened on Another Computer (170240)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you attempt to save a file that is opened as read-only on another computer, you receive a message indicating that the file cannot be opened, is damaged, or is in an unrecognized format.

RESOLUTION

Install the Service Pack 3 (or later) for Microsoft Windows NT, version 4.0.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above on a computer which is running Microsoft Windows NT, version 4.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 U.S. Service Pack. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on "S E R V P A C K" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
