Logitech Right Mouse Button Does Not Respond Correctly (166248)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows 95
  • Microsoft Windows 98

This article was previously published under Q166248

SYMPTOMS

When you are using a Logitech mouse and you use the right mouse button to click an object, the response may be as if you had double-clicked the object with the left mouse button.

CAUSE

The right mouse button may have been programmed to use the double-click function.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
  • Use the Mouse tool in Control Panel to reprogram the right mouse button to the default behavior.
  • Edit the Win.ini file and place a semicolon (;) at the beginning of the following line. After you make this change, save the file and restart your computer:
          load=c:\mouse\wbuttons.exe

    Or, if there are multiple items on this line, remove "c:\mouse\wbuttons.exe" from the line.

MORE INFORMATION

The Wbuttons.exe program is a Logitech Mouse Manager program that you can use to configure a 3-button Logitech mouse for use in Windows 3.x.

For more information about reconfiguring a Logitech mouse in Windows, contact Logitech or see your Logitech documentation.
