SUMMARY

Because of its advanced features, Picture It! requires Twain.dll version 1.6.0.1. Picture It! 2.0 requires Twain.dll version 1.6.03. Many scanners and digital camera install their own version of TWAIN. If you are having problems while scanning or acquiring pictures from a digital camera reinstall Picture It! to install the proper version of TWAIN.

You can check the version of TWAIN installed on your computer as follows.

  1. On the Windows desktop, click the Start button, point to Find, and then click Files and Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type twain*.dll and click Find Now.
  3. In the Search Results window you will see two files, Twain.dll and Twain_32.dll. Right-click the name of a file and click Properties from the menu that appears. Click the Version tab to see the version of TWAIN installed
  4. If you have more than one copy of these files, keep the ones in the Windows folder and rename all the others.
