GW: Cannot See Graphic Preview (165582)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to insert a graphic in a Greetings Workshop project, you may find that all of the categories appear to be empty or the graphic appears to be very small. Additionally, The Preview on the right side of the screen may be blank.

CAUSE

This behavior is caused by a conflict with some ATI and Diamond video utility programs that are running in the background.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods.

Temporarily Close ATI or Diamond Utilities

  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the Close Program dialog box.
  2. Click ATIcon or a Diamond utility, and then click End Task.
  3. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the Close Program dialog box.
  4. Click ATIkey32 or any remaining Diamond programs, and then click End Task.
NOTE: These programs are started again when you restart the computer.

Reduce Graphics Hardware Acceleration

To reduce the graphics hardware acceleration, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System.
  3. Click the Performance tab, and then click Graphics.
  4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider until it is one notch to the right of None (the Basic acceleration setting).
  5. Click OK, and then click Close.
  6. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
