PPT97: Title Text Doesn't Stand Out w/ Some Preset Backgrounds (165491)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows 95

SUMMARY

If you apply the Nightfall or Late Sunset fills to the background of a PowerPoint presentation based on the default Blank Presentation, the black Title Text does not appear clearly against the background. This also occurs with any one- or two-color gradient fill that uses a dark color at the top.

These specific fills user very dark shades at the top of the picture. Because the Title Text area uses a black font color, any text you use here shows very poorly against the background.

MORE INFORMATION

You can make the text show up more clearly by changing the Title Text font color to a lighter color. To do this, use the following steps:
  1. On the View menu, point to Master, and then click Slide Master.
  2. Click the border of the Title Area for AutoLayouts.

The border changes to a gray, hashed border.
  3. On the Format menu, click Font.
  4. From the Color list box, select a color other than black.
  5. Click OK.
  6. On the View menu, click Slide. Or, click Close on the Master toolbar.
