This article was previously published under Q161854

SYMPTOMS

When you try to copy, save, or delete a document, you may receive one of the following error messages:
Cannot create or replace '<filename>'. There is not enough free disk space. Delete one or more files to free disk space, and then try again.
Cannot save your document because the storage memory is full. Close any unneeded documents, programs, or windows and/or free up more storage memory, and then try to save again.
Cannot delete '[file name]'. There is not enough free disk space.
The Recycle Bin is currently using more storage space than has been reserved for this purpose. It is strongly recommended that you remove some files from the Recycle Bin at this time. Click Select Files, to open the Recycle Bin at this time. Click Empty Now, to permanently delete all recycled files.

CAUSE

There is not enough free storage space on your Handheld PC (H/PC) to perform the action.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one or more of the following methods:

  • Empty the contents of the Recycle Bin.
  • To make additional storage space available, follow these steps:

    1. Tap the Start button, tap Settings, and then double-tap System.
    2. Tap the Memory tab, and then move the slider to the right.
