TMGR: Status Set To Not Started When First Person Assigned (161798)

SUMMARY

The status of a task will change to, Not started, when the first person is assigned to the task.

Regardless of the status of a task Team Manager will change the Status of a task to Not started when the first person is assigned. After the first person is assigned to a task, the Status will not change back to Not started if set to another status level.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create a task.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Column.
  3. Under Field Shown, click Status and then OK.
  4. Change status of the task to anything other than Not started.
  5. Add a person to the task.
Notice that the status of the task will now be set to Not started.

STATUS

This behavior is by design. Microsoft Team Manager will reset the Status when it moves the assigned work from unassigned to the first person assigned to the task.
