SUMMARY

Presentation Conferencing for PowerPoint 97 supports Internet Addressing. Internet Addressing uses a unique 12 digit number called an IP address to identify a computer participating on a network or the Internet.

MORE INFORMATION

Most computers do not maintain a static IP address. For security purposes, the IP address periodically changes. If you are running Windows 95 you can determine your computer's current IP address by doing the following:
  1. Click the Start button and then click Run.
  2. In the command line type:

    Winipcfg

  3. Click Open.
The Windows 95 IP Configuration dialog box appears. You can now read the IP address. Use this address to locate the audience machine that will participate in the presentation conference.

The Presentation conferencing wizard allows you to identify each audience computer that is to participate in the conferencing session by either the computer name or its IP address. The computer name is identified by the conferencing wizard on the audience machine when the audience computer reaches the connection details section of the Presentation Conferencing wizard.
