PUB97: Insufficient Disk Space Message Running Setup to Server (161471)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q161471 SYMPTOMS
If you run a network administrative setup (Setup /A) to a Novell
Netware network server, you may receive the following error message:
There is not enough space to complete installation. You can change
your installation options, continue installation, or exit Setup.
The table beneath this error message incorrectly shows that Publisher
Setup requires 1.6 gigabytes of memory to complete.
This error may occur if the network server has more than a 3 gigabyte
hard drive installed. This error occurs even if there is more than 1.6
gigabytes of available space.
WORKAROUND
Perform your administrative setup by doing the following (these steps
assume you wish to install Publisher to your X: drive):
- Run Publisher administrative setup (Setup /A). Follow the on screen
instructions, filling in your company name and CD-KEY when
prompted.
- You'll see the dialog box that contains the following text:
Setup will install Microsoft Publisher 97 in the following
destination folder.
To install to a different folder, click the Change Folder
button.
Click the Change Folder button.
- Navigate to, or type in the name of, a folder on your local drive
(C:\Mspub, for example.) Click OK.
- Click OK again. The next dialog box contains the following text:
Some files that may be installed with Microsoft Publisher 97 may
be shared by more than one application or computer and should be
installed in their own network folder.
- Click the Change Folder button.
- Navigate to, or type in the name of, a folder on the network drive
to which you intend to install Microsoft Publisher (X:\Msapps, for
example.) Click OK.
- Complete the Publisher 97 setup.
- Copy the C:\Mspub folder (along with all its subfolders) to the X:
drive. You should now have both X:\Mspub and X:\Msapps folders.
You can now run your workstation setups from the X:\Mspub folder.
