NetMeeting Connectivity Commands Always Seem to Be Available (161435)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft NetMeeting 2.0 for Windows 95
- Microsoft NetMeeting 1.0 for Windows 95
This article was previously published under Q161435 SUMMARY
When NetMeeting is running, all connectivity commands, such as Call or
Place Advanced Call, seem to be available even if no modem or network
adapter is installed in the computer.
MORE INFORMATION
This behavior is by design. When NetMeeting starts, it does not check to
determine whether a modem or network adapter is installed.
NetMeeting does not check to determine whether functional protocols are
available until you try to use a connectivity command. This behavior
allows you to use the program and add a Personal Computer Memory Card
International Association (PCMCIA) modem or network adapter when it is
needed.
