PPT97: Previews Count as Changes When Undoing/Redoing (161386)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows

This article was previously published under Q161386

SYMPTOMS

Some of the dialog boxes in PowerPoint (the Format AutoShape dialog box, for example) have Preview buttons. If you click a Preview button, that action counts as a change that can be Undone and Redone. When you recolor an AutoShape object and click the Preview button first, you must click the Undo button twice to restore the original color.

RESOLUTION

The preview event is saved as an Undo event, so you must click the Undo button twice to restore the original fill color.

MORE INFORMATION

The Undo/Redo architecture has changed from PowerPoint for Windows 95, version 7.0 and now includes the preview event in the Undo stack.
