PPT97: File Size Larger if JPEG Images are OLE Objects (161142)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows
- Microsoft Photo Editor for Windows 95 3.0
- Microsoft Clip Gallery for Windows 95 3.0
This article was previously published under Q161142 SUMMARY
If you insert a Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) image file into
a PowerPoint slide through Microsoft Clip Gallery or Microsoft Photo
Editor and save your presentation, the file size is larger than if you
import the JPEG image directly into PowerPoint.
If you need to keep the size of your presentation file as small as
possible, use the following steps to import JPEG (.jpg) files:
- On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
- In the Insert Picture dialog box, navigate to the folder that
contains the image you want to import.
- Click the name of the file you want to import, and then click Insert.
