PPT97: Set Up Show Command Unavailable (157789)

SYMPTOMS

If you click the Slide Show menu, the Set Up Show command may be unavailable (grayed out).

CAUSE

The Set Up Show command is unavailable if you are running the presentation as a Slide Show in the background.

RESOLUTION

  1. Press ALT+TAB to switch to the PowerPoint Slide Show window.
  2. Press ESC to end the slide Show.
  3. Press ALT+TAB to switch back to PowerPoint.
Now the Set Up Show command is available.

MORE INFORMATION

When you view a PowerPoint 97 Slide Show, the Slide Show runs as a separate task. You can switch between Slide Show and Edit views by pressing the ALT+TAB keys on your keyboard.
