SUMMARY

This article describes how to use Game Device Profiler to map keyboard commands to buttons on the SideWinder 3D Pro joystick or SideWinder game pad.

MORE INFORMATION

To use Game Device Profiler to map keyboard commands, follow these steps:

  1. In Game Device Profiler, click the device to which you are mapping a keyboard command, and then click Add Game.
  2. Search the list of folders to find the game. If you do not see the executable file for the game in the game's folder, type *.* in the File Name box to display all files.
  3. Click the executable file for the game, and then click OK.
  4. In Game Device Profiler, type a name for the profile you are about to create. The default profile name is "Profile."

NOTE: You can create multiple profiles for the same game by repeating steps 1-4.
  5. Press a button on the SideWinder 3D Pro or SideWinder game pad or use the mouse to click the button on the screen, and then press the key on the keyboard you want to map to that button. When you press this button in the game, the key is activated.

NOTE: You cannot map the Windows key on keyboards that support this key (such as the Microsoft Natural Keyboard).
