SUMMARY

To view a slide show on a computer that does not have Picture It! Installed, you need the following:

  • Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51 or later
  • the slide show (.psf) file
  • the Pislide.exe viewer

To view a slide show on a computer that does not have Picture It! Installed, copy the viewer and place it on the computer.

To copy the slide show files to a floppy disk, do the following:

  1. From the Windows desktop, double-click My Computer.
  2. Switch to the \Program Files\Microsoft Picture It! folder.
  3. Click Pislide.exe to select it.
  4. On the File menu, click Send To, 3-1/2 Floppy (A).
  5. Switch to the \Program Files\Microsoft Picture It!\Slide Shows folder.
  6. Click the slide show (.psf) file you want to copy.
  7. On the File menu, click Send To, 3-1/2 Floppy (A).
  8. Eject the disk.
To view a slide show on a different computer, using the floppy disk described above, do the following:

  1. Insert the floppy disk in the drive.
  2. Double-click My Computer.
  3. Double-click the floppy drive icon.
  4. Drag the slide show file to the desktop.
  5. Double-click Pislide.exe, and click Yes to install the Picture It! Slide Show viewer.
  6. In the Picture It! Slide Show viewer, click the File menu, and then click Open.
  7. Double-click the slide show file.
  8. Click the Play button (a black triangle pointing right).
NOTE: You can open the slide show file from the floppy disk, but it will load faster if you copy it to the desktop.

Once you install the Picture It! Slide Show viewer, you can view a slide show by double-clicking the slide show file. The installer for the Slide Show viewer copies Pislide.exe into the Windows folder and creates an association in the Registry between Slide Show files and Pislide.exe.
