Money 5.0: Unable to Load the Product Tour (155228)

SYMPTOMS

Money 5.0 includes a Product Tour that runs the first time you start Money. If Money was not set up correctly, an error may occur when starting the Product Tour. This results in Money running without a file being open and may cause Money to stop responding.

RESOLUTION

Remove and reinstall Money 5.0 from the original product diskettes or Compact Disc.

If the Tour.dll file is missing or corrupted you will see the following error message:
Money cannot proceed because it is unable to load the Product Tour. Please reinstall the software from your original product disks.

When you run the Setup program, all the files Money needs are automatically copied to your hard disk. You may have accidentally moved or deleted a file that Money needs to complete a task. Depending on the problem, Money may be able to indicate which file it needs.
Money will continue to run until you enter any data into Money; at that point, you will see the following error message:
There has been an error reading or writing the file 'SAMPLE.'
A File Required dialog box opens where you can choose, Open File, Restore Backup, or Exit Money.

Exiting Money may give you the following error message:
Not enough memory is available. If you have several applications open at the same time, you might need to close one of them before starting Money.
If you choose not to remove and reinstall Money 5.0, Money opens a file called Sample.mny. You continue to see the Money cannot proceed... error message as mentioned above until you use Setup to remove and reinstall Money.
