SUMMARY

When you create a mail merge publication, you can only merge a single record from your address list with your publication. You cannot, for example, have a single publication that includes the names and addresses for two different people simultaneously, unless your address list contains the addresses for two people in a single record.

MORE INFORMATION

The most common reason for wanting to merge two or more records in a single page is to print multiple copies of the publication on the same page. For example, you may wish to print a sheet of mailing labels or postcards with each label or postcard having a different address.

Publisher handles this scenario by allowing you to print multiple copies of a publication on a single sheet of paper. If you are printing a sheet of mailing labels, use the Page Setup dialog box to make the size of your publication the same as one label. Merge the address information for a single label into your publication. When you print merge your publication, you get a whole sheet of labels with different addresses!

For step by step instructions on setting up a page of mailing labels:
  1. Start Publisher.
  2. On the Help menu, click Show Index.
  3. In the Type a Keyword box, type:

    Mailing Labels

NOTE: If you aren't printing mailing labels, you can still follow these steps. Just choose a page size which is one half the size of your actual paper (or smaller), and you can print multiple copies per sheet of paper.
