PUB: Pictures with Gradients May Recolor Incorrectly (154813)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Publisher for Windows 3.0

This article was previously published under Q154813

SYMPTOMS

If you copy a Publisher text frame or drawing object that contains a gradient fill and then paste it as a picture, that object may be recolored incorrectly. The gradient will appear in a color other than the one you chose, and it may appear with bands or streaks through it.

Note that this type of object will be printed incorrectly as well.

Note that gradient-filled objects from other programs, such as Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows 95, will be recolored as expected.

RESOLUTION

To change the color of a gradient, select the object and then click Fill Patterns And Shading on the Format menu.

NOTE: Do not first paste the object as a picture.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
