XFOR: Mail to AppleTalk Clients Ends Up in BADMAIL DIR (147461)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 4.0
This article was previously published under Q147461 SUMMARY
Messages sent from Exchange Mail Clients end up in the
Exchsrvr\connect\msmcon\maildata\macgate\BADMAIL subdirectory.
This directory is a repository for any message that could not be delivered
by the Microsoft Mail for Appletalk Connector.
MORE INFORMATION
When a message is sent from an Exchange client to the Microsoft Mail for
AppleTalk Networks client the Microsoft Exchange Server uses the Microsoft
Mail for Appletalk Connector to transfer the message. If the Microsoft Mail
for Appletalk Connector is not able to deliver the message the Microsoft
Mail for Appletalk Connector transfers the message to the BADMAIL
directory. The same scenario applies to messages going from Microsoft Mail
for AppleTalk Networks client to the Exchange client.
The purpose of the directory is to ensure that the Microsoft Mail for
AppleTalk Connector does not discard bad messages.
