SYMPTOMS

If you install the IntelliPoint 1.1 and IntelliType 1.1 software and then uninstall the IntelliType software, not all the registry entries for the IntelliType software are removed. These registry entries are not included in the group of entries also used by the IntelliPoint software.

RESOLUTION

NOTE: For information about how to edit the registry, view the Changing Keys And Values online Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). Note that you should make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat) before you edit the registry.

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows 95. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To work around this problem, manually remove the IntelliType entries from the registry. The following registry values are not removed when you uninstall the IntelliType software:

  • FastPointer
  • MouseKey
  • MouseKeyJump
  • MouseKeyFeedback
These registry values are found under the following registry key:
   HkeyCurrentUser\Control Panel\Microsoft Input Devices\WindowsPointer
