SMS 1.1 Client Not Compatible With DEC Pathworks 5.1 (140043)

SUMMARY

When using DEC Pathworks 5.1 on a WFW client as a second network, the Systems Management Server 1.1 client does not report to the SMS server, even if the Microsoft TCP/IP32 stack is also loaded on the primary network.

When you use Pathworks 5.1 as a secondary network, Windows for Workgroups is forced to work in a real-mode networking model. Pathworks real-mode TCP/IP stack is not compatible with SMS 1.1 and is not supported. Microsoft's TCP/IP-32 stack is a virtual mode only stack.

DEC offers their own version of SMS, which they support with Pathworks, DEC Polycenter. Microsoft does not support Pathworks.
